Kodak Black could be facing more time behind bars after being found guilty on five charges of violating his house arrest.
Kodak Black was involved in a high-speed police chase last year, which landed him in jail. He was released a month later, then found himself locked up again after it was discovered he had warrants for armed robbery and false imprisonment from a year prior. A judge placed Kodak on house arrest in August. However, just before his scheduled release, 2 more warrants were found, one being a sexual assault charge in South Carolina.
Kodak was then transported to South Carolina to stand trial. In December 2016, the rapper was released from custody after posting a $100,000 bond. His legal troubles did not stop there, however. In February 2017, Kodak returned to court where he was arrested for violation of his probation. According to reports, Kodak Black was accused of attending an Adrien Broner boxing match, and on multiple occasions, the strip club, despite being on house arrest. A bartender also accused Kodak of physically assaulting her.
The manager of the strip club testified on Wednesday that the bartender’s claims were false. According to his testimony, the bartender, Jennifer Cunningham, bragged about grabbing Kodak’s genitals.
”We knew she was drunk because she was actually bragging about grabbing the man’s genitals,” he said. When asked to clarify who “the man” was, he stated “Kodak Black.”
Surveillance footage also showed Cunningham and the rapper exchanging a hug after the alleged assault would have taken place.
Despite the case looking favorable for Kodak, the fact of the matter is he was still at the strip club when he wasn’t supposed to be. He was found guilty of five counts of violating his house arrest. He is due back in court on May 4 where they will determine if he will spend more time in jail.
