Court documents obtained by TMZ show that Kodak Black wants the car and cash seized by the Florida Highway Patrol last month returned to him.
Last month, the rapper was pulled over in a Dodge Durango registered to his Sniper Gang label. Officers claimed the car smelled like weed, prompting them to search the vehicle. The search yielded 31 oxycodone pills and nearly $75,000 in cash.
Kodak’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, says that since his client turned over a prescription for the pills and can prove the car is his, it should be returned to him. There is no legal basis to keep the rapper’s property since it was not involved in illegal activity.Â
Cohen explained that Kodak carries that much cash around because he’s a rapper, is sometimes paid in cash, and uses the money to pay for various expenses on tour.Â
The court has not made a ruling in the case.Â
