Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, has spoken out about the legal ramifications of a recently surfaced video showing Diddy allegedly assaulting Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. Cohen claims that the video, published by CNN, wasn’t “obtained” but rather leaked, suggesting that more legal trouble may be on the horizon for the Bad Boy mogul.
“Anyone who thinks CNN ‘obtained’ the video is a sucker,” Cohen wrote on Instagram. “This was a leak, and to me, it telegraphs the fact he’s about to be charged in a bigger case. This way, if Cassie is the star witness, they can rely on the fact she was essentially under his control. By the way, that is why this case should have been settled way before the lawsuit was filed.” In a comment on the post, he added: “One other observation is there is a reason he hasn’t left the country or flew anywhere the past month. My belief is they would arrest him in a criminal complaint if he flew anywhere.”
Cohen isn’t alone in his theories about the video’s release. 50 Cent also suggested something similar, sharing the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office’s statement on Instagram. The DA’s office clarified that Diddy wouldn’t face charges for the incident due to the statute of limitations on assault.
Cassie had previously mentioned suffering abuse by Diddy in a lawsuit last November, which was quickly settled.
Diddy took to his instagram to speak out after the release of the video of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie and posted, “I’m truly sorry.”
