Kris Jenner reflects on how she and her family dealt with Caitlyn Jenner‘s transition.
On Wednesday night, Kris sat down with Robin Roberts and discussed many things. One topic in particular that stood out was Kris speaking on her ex-husband’s gender transition. Robin asked Kris about their relationship status, to which Kris responded, “We’re fine. Yeah, we’re friends. And I see her when she’s at a family thing, so it’s, you know, settled down a lot.”
Kris then reflected on her family’s initial response to Cailtyn’s gender change.
“I think it was a big shock,” Kris said. “It’s a scary thing to go through because you know nothing about it. It’s a subject I never thought that I would ever have to directly deal with, confront, be understanding about. Something that I didn’t you know, understand.”
Kris and Caitlyn separated in October 2013 after 22 years of marriage. However, two years later, Caitlyn publicly announced that she was transitioning. During that time, a Kardashian-Jenner feud began after Caitlyn decided to release a memoir in 2017.
‘The Secrets Of My Life’ book written by Caitlyn claimed that Kris knew more about her husband’s gender crisis than she publicly said. Kris and her daughters have been open about the memoir causing turmoil in their family.
Since then, the Kardashian-Jenner family has dissolved their issues and mended their relationship with Caitlyn. In fact, last year, Kris sat down with WSJ Magazine’s “The One” and said she and Caitlyn are “very respectful” towards each other because “she’s the father of two of my kids, and so that speaks volumes.”
