Kroy Biermann is seeking full custody of the four children he shares with Kim Zolciak.
On August 15th, the 39-year-old former NFL player filed court documents requesting primary custody and complete decision-making authority over their minor children: twins Kaia and Kane, 11, Kash, 13, and Kroy Jr., 14. Biermann also adopted Zolciak’s daughters, Ariana, 23, and Brielle, 28, after the couple wed in 2011.
In his filing, Biermann alleged that “there is an immediate concern for the physical, emotional, and mental safety” of their children, calling Zolciak a “tormentor and abuser.” He also claimed “there is a noteworthy absence of structure and accountability in the Mother’s home,” adding that the current shared arrangement “is not in the best interests of the children.” According to him, three of their children are struggling in school and Zolciak often picks them up early.
A representative for Zolciak pushed back against his claims in a statement to PEOPLE. “The claims made in the recent filing are completely false, misleading, and deeply hurtful. Kim has always been, and continues to be, a devoted, loving, and attentive mother who puts her children’s needs above everything else,” the statement read. The rep added that she has been “the primary emotional anchor” for the children, ensuring “a stable home, healthy routines, and unconditional love.”
Calling Biermann’s actions “nothing short of a publicity stunt,” the statement accused him of filing unsealed documents to “manipulate headlines” while Zolciak remains focused on co-parenting.
