Kyle Kuzma of the Washington Wizards has been praised for pushing fashion boundaries with bold choices. Sadly, we will no longer be getting these style statements, as he is retiring his famed tunnel moments.
Days ago, Kuzma explained why he would no longer participate in the tunnel outfit walk-through, which fans are excited to witness.
“I don’t want to be a part of that type of community where you have to put on a fit. I’m really taking a backseat to all of that,” he told Vogue during his cover story. “I can speak from experience that when you’re a younger player, you don’t want to wear the same thing twice. A lot of times, we get played into thinking, ‘Oh, we gotta switch it up, we gotta buy something new.’ And now we’re just buying clothes to impress people or to stand out. It’s ludicrous.”
Over the years, several of Kuzma’s looks, such as his oversized pink sweater and the Rick Owens puffer, have gone viral on social media. His Raf Simons knit was another influential piece, and in October 2023, he collaborated with Teyana Taylor for his inaugural NBA season outfit.
Another iconic look was his November 2023 Chrome Hearts and Childhood Dreams combination, with the latter making the one-of-one jacket. This black leather ensemble was certainly a staple.
That same month. He introduced a blue Childhood Dreams and Puma collaboration. This mixed athleisure with a designer flair.
His March 2024 tunnel concept was even more luxurious. He carried a cognac Hermes man bag and a matching crossbody bag. His outfit, courtesy of VETEMENTS, included a lengthy blazer and joggers.
Though fans will no longer get these memorable garments, Kuzma is officially the first NBA player to get a solo Vogue cover. Therefore, his fashion sense is still on full display, just not during game time.
