On Monday, reports claimed that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky had decided to end their marriage. The source said Richards and Umansky were still living under the same roof despite being separated for a while.
“Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof,” the source told PEOPLE magazine. “They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family.”
However, in a statement released by the couple, the two made it clear that they had not called it quits just yet.
“In regards to the news that came out about us today…Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue,” they said in the joint statement. “However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative.”
Richards has been married to Umansky, a prominent figure in The Agency real estate industry, since 1996. Throughout their union, the former couple welcomed three daughters: Alexia, aged 27; Sophia, aged 23; and Portia, aged 15. Additionally, Richards has a daughter named Farrah Brittany, aged 34, from her previous marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
Outside of her personal life, Richards also is known as the last remaining cast member on the reality show after joining in 2010. Throughout the series, viewers have witnessed her journey of constructing new houses, establishing businesses, and flourishing as a prosperous producer and actress. During her journey on Bravo, Richards ventured into the fashion industry by launching two clothing collections bearing her name. She also expanded her entrepreneurial pursuits by opening multiple boutique storefronts.
Richards began her Hollywood career starting off as a child actress on popular shows such as “Little House on the Prairie,” “The Car,” and “The Watcher in the Woods.” She later gained prominence through her role in the ’80s sitcom “Down to Earth” and made multiple appearances in over a dozen episodes of the TV medical drama “ER.”
Despite the couple’s recent issues, the two spent the holiday together as a family.
