Kyle Rittenhouse, the man accused of using an AR-style semi-automatic rifle to fatally shoot two people, and injure a third during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year has been acquitted on all counts.
Rittenhouse faced five felonies in the trial stemming from the 2020 shootings that took place at protests that came days after a white police offer shot and paralyzed Jacob Blake. The 18-year-old was charged with a single count each of first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree intentional homicide, two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and a single count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
Rittenhouse claims he acted in self-defense when he shot and killed Anthony Huber, 26, and Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, now 27.
Jurors reached their verdict on their fourth day of deliberations.
