Kylie Jenner is now officially the youngest “self-made” billionaire.
The socialite-turned-businesswoman has officially become the youngest billionaire, according to Forbes. The billions all stem from her growing cosmetic makeup company, Kylie Cosmestics. The brand was originally sold exclusively online for three years and in pop-up shops. Eventually, Jenner signed an exclusive distribution deal with Ulta Beauty, which sold her $29 lip kits—a matte liquid lipstick and matching lip liner—in its 1,000-plus stores.
In just six weeks, Kylie Cosmetics has sold $54.5 million worth of Ulta products, according to estimates from Oppenheimer. “I popped up at a few stores, I did my usual social media—I did what I usually do, and it just worked,” Jenner said.
Since last year, Kylie Cosmetics’ revenue has jumped 9 percent to an estimated $360 million. Forbes now estimates the company is worth at least $900 million, and Jenner owns all of it, making the 21-year-old the youngest “self-made” billionaire ever.
