Kylie Jenner catches backlash for her support of Israel.
Over the weekend, Kylie shared a post on her Instagram story expressing solidarity with Israel following an attack by Hamas. The 26-year-old posted the image from the pro-Israel account, which displays the Israeli flag and includes a message, “Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel!”
Within just an hour, Kylie decided to remove the post due to the negative feedback she received from some of her 400 million followers on the platform.
“Don’t get involved in politics and say that u support i**ael. P@lestine has been suffering for ages,” one commenter said, while another questioned, “Are u even human if u are with zionists?”
If you’re not aware, Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, issued an official declaration of “war” on Sunday in response to the attack launched by Hamas. He called for a significant military response. In a surprise rocket attack, Hamas militants have caused the death of at least 600 Israelis and left more than 2,000 others wounded. Additionally, the group has taken several hostages within Gaza, prompting preparations by the Israeli military for imminent engagement.
“Citizens of Israel, we are at war — not in an operation, not in rounds — at war,” Netanyahu said in a video.
Nevertheless, President Biden, along with other members of his cabinet, strongly denounced the attacks and reiterated the United States’ support for Israel.
“Today, the people of Israel are under attack, orchestrated by a terrorist organization, Hamas,” Biden said. “In this moment of tragedy, I want to say to them and to the world and to terrorists everywhere that the United States stands with Israel.”
