Kylie Jenner caught so much flack on social media after asking her followers to donate to her former makeup artist’s GoFundMe account that she took to social media to clear up the incident.
“I feel it’s important to clear up this false narrative that I’ve asked fans for money and am not paying for my makeup artist’s medical bills,” the billionaire makeup mogul wrote in her Instagram story.
Jenner explains that she previously worked with a makeup artist, Samuel Rauda, who was in a severe accident. His family created a GoFundMe. When Jenner learned of the accident, she found out more details from Ariel and visited the online fundraising page.
“After learning in more detail about the accident, it compelled me to visit his gofundme, which was set at 10k,” she continued. “They had already raised 6k, so i put it in 5k to reach their original goal and thought i’d post it on my stories to gain more awareness if anyone also felt compelled to share or donate.”
Jenner said the injured makeup artists’ family reached out to her through her current makeup artist and is very appreciative. Since being shared by Jenner, the GoFundMe has surpassed its original goal of $10,000 and is currently at more than $99,000.
“Anyone that knows me knows that I do things from the heart, and I try to be helpful whenever I can be,” she wrote before encouraging people to keep Rauda and his family in their prayers.
Rauda suffered serious injuries earlier this month after being thrown from a moving vehicle and hitting his head on the pavement.
