The Ladies Of “The Real” Share Why Tamar Braxton’s Seat Hasn’t Been Filled Since She Left The Show

Co-host of the The Real, Loni Love, said that “the hosts have not changed” in all five seasons. But clearly, if you’ve been with them from the beginning, you’ve noticed that one host has indeed dropped from the lineup.

Tamar Braxton left the show in 2016 and has yet to be replaced. According to the other co-hosts, it was a unanimous decision but the departure was out of their hands. Adrienne Houghton said, “The same way we can’t get rid of people on the show, we also can’t stop them from adding one.” She noted that the co-hosts’ preference is for the slot to remain unfilled.

When it came down to why the ladies have remained silent about Tamar leaving for 2 years, #LoniLove said, “That’s embarrassing when you get let go of a show. That’s embarrassing so sometimes it’s better to just not say nothing and let the process play out. Timing is everything.”

Jeannie Mai added, “And we couldn’t say anything either because we have a job to uphold, and we also didn’t know what was going on because it’s just our job.”
