Lady Gaga’s Dog Walker Says He Is “Deeply Concerned” After His Accused Shooter Is Mistakenly Released From Jail

Lady Gaga’s dog walker has a request for the man accused of shooting him, he wants him to turn himself back in after he was mistakenly released.

Ryan Fischer made his statement on Instagram Friday, saying he is “deeply concerned” that James Howard Jackson was released Wednesday due to a clerical error made by the jail.

“While I’m deeply concerned at the events that led to his release, I’m confident law enforcement will rectify the error,” Fischer said.

“I ask for Mr. Jackson to turn himself over to the authorities, so resolution to the crime committed against me runs its course, whatever the courts determine that outcome to be. Thank you to everyone who is supporting me during this time.”

The victim’s statement follows the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau announced that they inadvertently released the 19-year-old inmate who is accused of shooting Fischer in February of last year while he was walking the star’s three French bulldogs.

“The investigation is continuing, and the LASD Major Crimes Bureau is actively working to get Mr. Jackson back in custody,” the statement said.

After he allegedly shot Fischer, Jackson and two other suspects fled in a car with two of Gaga’s dogs, Koji and Gustav. Luckily, the dogs were returned two days later to the police, PEOPLE reported.

Last April, five people involved in the case, including Jackson, were charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, second-degree robbery, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and a felon carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle.

Fischer was critically injured in the attack. He suffered a collapsed lung. “The people in the ER, who I had seen that night, told me they didn’t think I was gonna survive that night,” he told Gayle King on CBS Mornings in September.
