Rob Pelinka, General Manager of the Los Angeles Lakers, recently held a conference call to discuss the current status of the NBA amidst the coronavirus crisis.
“I can say definitively that all of us hope there’s a way to have an NBA champion crowned,” Pelinka said Wednesday.
Though he joins an army of fans and players waiting for the return of the beloved sport, he also understands the importance of keeping everyone safe right now by practicing social distancing.
Pelinka also opened up about Kobe Bryant being posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame following his untimely passing in January.
“It was a moment full of mixed emotions,” he said. “All of us are heartbroken; he couldn’t be there to receive that honor in person. But I have a level of confidence he is with us in spirit and is celebrating that.”
On Saturday, Bryant was selected to be inducted to the Hall, and the ceremony will take place in August.
