KobeBryant’s career and legacy with the Los Angeles Lakers will be remembered for years to come, as his jersey will join the greats in the rafters. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to TMZ, the Lakers are planning to retire Bryant’s jersey before the Warriors game on December 18. Although the ceremony has yet to be announced, the team sent a letter to Lakers season ticket holders, suggesting them to “hold on to their tickets for the game on Dec. 18” for a “special event.”
But, with the retirement of Bryant’s jersey, the organization must decide which number will be hung, as the superstar wore #8 and #24 throughout his career with the L.A. team. Back in 2016, Bryant provided the perfect response to the question, saying “[Whichever number they choose] it’s going to be pretty hard for someone else to wear the other one.”
With that being said, there’s a strong possibility both numbers will hang to highlight Bryant’s decorated, 20-year tenure with the team.
