A car crash involving six vehicles left nine people dead and several others injured in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The car accident happened just after 3 p.m. when a Dodge Challenger ran a red light and crashed into several other vehicles. The person driving the Dodge died in the wreck.
“There have been a total of confirmed nine deceased ages ranging from young juvenile to middle-aged adults,” North Las Vegas Public Information Officer Alex Cuevas said during a press conference.
The victims’ names have not been made public pending notification of next of kin.
The New York Post reports that around 15 other people were involved in the crash. Two people were taken to UMC, one was pronounced dead, and the other was listed in critical condition.
People do not suspect impairment by drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash. More information will be made public as the investigation moves forward, according to Cuevas.
