A Las Vegas teen allegedly sexually assaulted and strangled his high school teacher over issues with his grades.
On Friday, police arrested 16-year-old Jonathan Eluterio Martinez Garcia for reportedly beating, choking and sexually assaulting his high school teacher at Eldorado High School this past Thursday, The New York Post reports.
The incident happened when the teen went to talk to his teacher about his grades. In a statement, police said the teen “began punching the victim and strangled her until she lost consciousness.”
The teacher told police the teen told her he was assaulting her because he “didn’t like teachers” and was “getting revenge.”
She told cops he then choked her unconscious a second time, and when she woke up, her pants and underwear were pulled down. The boy also poured something on her and said he wanted to “set something on fire.” After that, he moved a shelf on top of her and sat on top of it.
The boy then took off running from the scene. The teacher was found passed out by a janitor; she was immediately rushed to a local hospital.
The New York Post reports police picked Garcia about one mile away from the school. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and charged with attempted murder, sexual assault, battery with intent to commit sexual assault, first-degree kidnapping and robbery.
He’s currently being held on a $500,000 bail and is set to appear in court on Tuesday.
