Latto’s “Brokey” has made Givenchy Shark Lock Boots the subject of widespread internet debate.

Among the many lyrics that sparked conversation, mentioning the luxury shoe has caused quite a stir.  She raps, “You won’t catch me in no shark boots, y’all burnt ’em out.”

Latto may be tired of seeing the fall and winter staple, but thanks to the ever-evolving styles and colorways, the Shark Lock boots remain one of Givenchy’s most popular items.  With so many variations, it’s unlikely folks will be canceling this wardrobe must-have.  Givenchy introduced its Shark Lock boots in 2012, with Creative Director Matthew M. Williams masterminding the signature lock hardware. The boots became an instant success, with top celebrities and influencers flocking to get a pair.

One of the newer and more iconic renditions of this Givenchy staple is the Shark Lock Stiletto. Deviating from the classic wedge, this seductive over-the-knee shoe has a 3.7-inch heel, much higher than what shoppers have grown accustomed to. This style is also available in ankle boots.  Instead of a smooth surface, the shorter version of the Shark Lock Stiletto has a slouchy effect. Those who live for a bit of drama can enjoy the Shark Lock Stiletto ankle boots in satin, which are finished with a barrage of feathers covering the shoe.

Rapper Kash Doll recently trolled Latto while rocking a pair of Shark Lock Stiletto over-the-knee boots in suede, captioning her carousel of photos “Ion know Latto I just bought another pair of Shark Boots sis.”

Another blazing remix is the country-inspired Shark Lock Cowboy.  The calfskin leather is decorated with a western-inspired pattern, while the pointed-toe features similar stitching. Cowboy versions have seemingly taken off, with Givenchy introducing this style in black, red, white, and even black with an embossed front to make them appear like steel-toe boots.

If traditional Shark Lock Boots are still your thing, Givenchy has introduced countless colors and prints to choose from.  Denim, natural beige, red, and black are some of the most common hues. However, cheetah print and sparkly strass are also available for anyone seeking a dressier option.

Givenchy Shark Lock Boots remain a go-to footwear option, and even if Latto is over them, thousands of other buyers think otherwise.
