The mother of Brian Laundrie called the police on Dog the Bounty Hunter despite him being involved in the search for her missing son.
Gabrielle Petito’s fiancé, Brian Laundrie, 23, has been missing since Sept. 14, three days after Petito’s family reported Gabrielle as missing. Petito’s body was found at a campground in Wyoming’s Bridger Teton National Forest. However, Laundrie has yet to be found. To help with finding Laundrie, TV personality and bounty hunter Duane Lee Chapman has joined the search party.
In video footage, Chapman can be seen knocking on the door of the home that belonged to Laundrie. Laundrie’s mother – Roberta Laundrie – answered; she and Chapman had a back and forth, which was recorded before her calling the police on him.
“The female, Roberta… called in on 911,” says a dispatcher, who added that the caller “referenced a situation with the male.” Chapman says police knew about him going to the couple’s home. “It’s a shame they wouldn’t speak with us. The police said we were welcome to knock on the door, so we did. I wanted to tell the Laundries that our goal is to find Brian and bring him in alive,” Chapman told Fox News.
He added: “We’ve been called to the house numerous times for all sorts of issues: media, protesters, celebrity searchers. It’s not something normal. If the family calls and is concerned, we will respond like we would for anyone.”
A warrant has been issued for Laundrie’s arrest after police found that he may have used Petito’s debit card on Aug. 30 and Sept. 1. The New York Post reports that Laundrie is the only person of interest in the death of Petito.
