Friday night, we had one of the most interesting interactions of the NBA season. As the Rockets and Lakers were going back and forth, LeBron James sought a travel call against Rockets center Alperen Sengun. Despite LeBron’s plea, the referees did not make the call. Subsequently, a verbal exchange erupted between Rockets Head Coach Ime Udoka and LeBron.
The leaked audio came the following day, where we could hear the exchange.
At this point, Ime was standing on business as LeBron walked closer to him, bringing no intimidation to the coach. Udoka was ejected as their argument kept going. The straw that broke the camel’s back was when Ime said, “Soft a*% boy, stop b$thing, acting like you’re gonna do something.”
It’s true. Nobody is about to fight, especially not the face of the league. That intimidation tactic in the NBA doesn’t work because everybody is considerate of the risks at hand.
Udoka was ejected, and Bron received a technical foul. The Lakers finally got the best of Houston this season, winning 107-97 behind Anthony Davis 27 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocks.
On January 29 in Houston, we will be able to see if Ime is going to stand on business when the Lakers face off with the Rockets one more time at home.
Check out the leaked audio below.
