LeBron James not only dominates on the basketball court as one of the greatest players in the league, but he continues to make financially savvy business moves and strategic partnerships. His latest multiyear endorsement deal comes from one of the world’s largest communication companies, AT&T.
In conjunction with the launch of their new streaming service, AT&T TV, the brand partnered with major celebrities like James, Missy Elliott, and Tracy Morgan for their ad campaigns in an effort to drive subscriptions. With the celebs’ massive social media followings, AT&T hopes to attract streaming audiences through affiliation.
As part of the endorsement deal, LeBron ensured that his I Promise Village, which offers transitional housing to the families with students who attend his I Promise school in Akron, Ohio, would benefit directly from the venture. AT&T will allocate technology and offer other resources to the residents. In a press release, James stated, “To have one of the biggest communications companies in the world believe in my kids and the work we’re doing to uplift families is incredible.”
AT&T now joins the already impressive list of companies like Nike, Coca-Cola, Walmart, and General Motors who endorse LeBron. Congratulations to King James on the amazing brand partnership.
