Florida A&M University is set to be the first HBCU to sport LeBron James’ logo on its jerseys.
As part of a collaborative partnership between LeBron James, Nike, and FAMU, the HBCU will be the first historically Black college and institution to rock James’ logo. The move comes as an effort to push more spotlight and awareness around HBCUs.
“Meet the 1st HBCU jersey to feature the LeBron James logo,” reads a tweet from Nike’s Nike Basketball Twitter page.
“With an old-school vibe and modern flair, these first of their kind jerseys feature snakeskin numbers as an ode to the school’s Rattler DNA. Available now in North America,” the tweet continued.
There are no details on what other HBCUs will join in, but reports show there may be a possibility that other historically Black schools could soon be a part of the partnership, DK Nation reports.
