LeBron James and his business partner, Maverick Carter are back at it again with the major business moves. According to Variety, the Akron-bred duo are developing a remake of the 1990’s hit, “House Party.”
The new film will be penned by ‘Atlanta’ writers Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori, as James and Carter led on production for the New Line film.

“This is definitely not a reboot. It’s an entirely new look for a classic movie,” James told The Hollywood Reporter of his new project. “Everyone I grew up with love ‘House Party’. To partner with this creative team to bring a new ‘House Party’ to a new generation is unbelievable.”

Not only will the film be backed by the greatest athlete in the world, but according to the publication, you can bet your bottom dollar that the soundtrack will be one for the books, seeing as how James is good friends with some of the biggest entertainers in the business. Call in a favor, maybe?

“We’re trying out some ideas for musicians to be cast in and to be a part of the project,” Carter said, hinting at the idea of a King James cameo. “There’s no plan for it now, but he’s a fantastic actor, and if he wants a role, Stephen will find a great role to put him in.”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The new project, backed by the longtime friends, will join James’ long list of current and forthcoming projects from ‘Survivor’s Remorse’ to the new Netflix series about Madam C.J. Walker, which will be executive produced by Octavia Spencer.
