Lebron James has just become the NBA’s first active player to generate $1 billion in career earnings.
James owes much of his financial success to his legendary NBA career, a thriving production company, and his starring role in “Space Jam: A New Legacy.”
According to Sportico.com, the Lakers star recently surpassed the $1 billion mark. James earned $300 million in his playing salary since being drafted in 2003 and earned an additional $700 million through off-the-court endorsements deals, merchandise, licensing, and his media production company, SpringHill Co.
The NBA All-Star and entrepreneur now joins a very elite club with basketball great Michael Jordan, who also passed the billion-dollar benchmark but did so only after his NBA career ended.
