As the National Basketball Association continues to evaluate if the current season will resume or be canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, LeBron James admits he won’t find closure if it doesn’t.
On a conference call on Wednesday, James discussed the likely outcome given the current state of everything due to COVID-19.
“I don’t think I would be able to have any closure if we did not have an opportunity to finish the season,” James said, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.
However, James did reflect on the positive outlook of the situation and said he’d appreciative of the special moments from the season regardless.
“I can have some satisfaction on what our team has been able to do this year (with) a first-year coach, first-year system, a whole new coaching staff, bringing on so many new pieces to our team this year,” James said, according to Sports Illustrated. “I thought it would take us a lot longer than it did, but I was wrong,” James added, of his new team’s ability to mesh. “I was very wrong about that.”
Had the Los Angeles Lakers gone to win the finals this year, it would have made the fourth championship title for James.
James also shared what he’s been doing to pass the time while quarantining, revealing he’s been watching ‘Tiger King.’
“Pretty much anything that has the word ‘king’ in it, I watch,” he joked.
