Legendary Rapper Scarface Announces His Departure From Rap Music

Legendary rapper Scarface may go down as one of the best rappers in the industry, but he has now announced his departure from rap music.

During The Geto Boys podcast, the Houston native revealed the news and shared his new career endeavors. “I want to do something different now … If I could, I would love to go into a different lane of music. Maybe blues or rock. Maybe alternative. I want to do something different now.”

Scarface then admits that he doesn’t think he could write music like his old self. “I was saying some good sh*t,” Scarface said. “I probably could never write like that again. But it’s a beautiful thing when you’re able to express yourself with words and people fall in love with your ability to deliver a story.”

However, the rap icon says he won’t leave without saying goodbye to his fans first to give them proper closure. “The cool part about it is, I get to say farewell twice,” he said. “I get to go out there and say farewell by myself, and then I get to say it with you.”

The farewell concert should be an entertaining event. The rapper discography contains 11 solo albums along with seven albums from The Geto Boys.
