Amid the on-going controversy surrounding the NFL protests, fans have banded together to boycott the NFL for its mishandling of Colin Kaepernick’s unemployment. Since then, others have called for a boycott for the player’s protests against police brutality and racial injustices.
Among those who are opposed to the protests against police brutality is the legendary sports anchor, Vin Scully. The former Dodgers announcer spoke at an event in Pasadena on Saturday, where he divulged his disappointment in the mishandling of the situation.
“I have only one personal thought, really. …and I am so disappointed. I used to love, during the fall and winter, to watch the NFL on Sunday,” Scully, who spent one year in the Navy, said. “But I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach. I will never watch another NFL game.”
