There are so many topics that should just fade away and one particular topic stands out amongst many, light skin vs. dark skin. Why is this still be discussed? Why are we demeaning each other because of the shade of our skin?
For so long, dark- skinned people were criticized because their skin tone was not light enough. Growing up, that sh!t bothered me because I was not accepted by my peers because I didn’t fit into “their” perfect world. Wtf is perfect about someone’s skin tone?

I would hear people talk about how light skin was in and dark skin wasn’t. Like what? What do you mean light skin is in? Are we both not beautiful?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I hated hearing, “You’re pretty for a dark-skinned girl.” Why do people feel the need to say that? Basically you are saying that dark-skinned women or men are ugly. Which is far from the truth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some people act like having dark skin is bad thing. Well guess what? It’s not. Being a dark-skinned woman/man is not only beautiful but truly amazing. In the words of Pac, “The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice.” This line in “Keep ya head up” meant so much because when others are putting you down, you have to learn to ignore the bullsh!t and show the world why you are the sh!t.

We should not be putting blacks against each other. We should be uplifting one another and encouraging each other towards greatness. There is enough racism as it is with not being accepted by whites. No need to be downing our own.

Black is beautiful!
