Every household of course isn’t the same. There are some households where both parents live in the home and then you have some with only one parent. Many believe that the way a child grows up determines their future relationships and how they handle certain situations.
There’s no doubt that our mothers and fathers bust their a$$ to ensure that we had our needs and our wants. Although both parents are not always in the household together, that does not mean that they cannot have a successful co-parenting relationship. But, it does mean they must watch what they say and do around their child to prevent long-term bitterness and anger. You cannot continue to bash your baby momma or daddy in front of the children. How you treat your significant other or the mother/father of your children will determine how your child will treat their future husband or wife.
Parents often forget that their children pay attention to any and every detail that surrounds them. From who comes in and out of their lives to how their parents interact with one another. When children grow up around certain behaviors, they immediately believe that it is okay to do certain things whether it’s infidelity, abuse, or promiscuity.
When raising children, parents must be careful with whom they bring around their child. Everyone does not deserve the right to meet your child unless you have established a serious relationship. Having men and women come in and out of children’s lives causes confusion and sometimes abandonment issues. I say this because if your child sees all kinds of men and women laying up with mommy or daddy, they will grow up either being just like their parents, or resenting the opposite sex.
Many grow up believing that all men are dogs or all women are whores because of how their parents have shared their personal lives with them. Children are like sponges and they soak everything in whether you think they are paying attention or not. I am not saying that you have to stop living YOUR life but watch how you live it in front of your children.
Parents are their child’s first teacher, so show your children how to be respectable young men and women.
