Let’s Talk: Is It Possible To Be In Love With Two People?

Love is a word that you don’t throw around loosely, especially when it comes to your heart and emotions. When you love someone, you will do whatever it takes to see them smile. We can love as many people as we want because our hearts are so pure and genuine. However, there is a difference between loving someone and being in love with someone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you love someone, you care about their well-being to an extent. Loving someone goes beyond their physical presence. You want to see them grow in every aspect. You encourage and motivate them to be their best self.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, when you are in love with someone their presence matters. You feel lost and alone when they are not around you. You also want them to be their best self for you. The love and passion that the two of you have brings out the best in the both of you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The question that seems to surface continuously though is “Is it possible to be in love with two people?” In my opinion, I don’t believe you can.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can love a person with every fiber in your body. Everything about this person makes you complete. But, things can gradually change when you least expect it. Another person can cross your path whether it’s at work, traveling, or just a random situation. You begin to feel something that you shouldn’t feel due to the love you already share with someone else. But now, the love you once felt for the other person has turned into being in love with someone else.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The feelings for the new person can develop with simply talking. Feelings begin to grow stronger as you put in more time and effort with the new person in your life. Now that begins to take time from the person that you originally claimed to love. The love for the new person in your life continues to grow as long you continue to put more feelings and emotions into that person.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What some people fail to understand or realize is that everything takes time. You don’t just wake up and say, “I don’t love you anymore.” The love doesn’t go away that quick.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The more time you spend with the new person, the stronger the feelings, which can grow to love. Now you are beginning to love one more than other. You are not in love with both. The feelings you once had for the person can change from being in love to just having love for them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Often times we confuse liking someone so much that we misinterpret that for actual love.
