Lifetime will be making a movie about the tragic murder of Shanann Watts and her two young daughters, Celeste,4, and Bella,3, all of whom were killed by husband and father, Chris Watts.

People announced, ”The Chris Watts Story” will chronicle the months that led up to the murders, piecing together possible motives behind his actions.

Sean Kleier has been cast as Chris, Ashley Williams as Shanann, and Brooke Smith has been cast as FBI agent Tammy Lee. Sony Pictures Television is set to produce the film for Lifetime.

On August 13, 2018, Chris murdered his 15-week pregnant wife by strangulation, after he smothered his two daughters.

At the time it was reported that he was having an affair with a coworker Nichol Kessinger, who cooperated with the police detailing how she thought the married couple was separated at the time of the affair.

Chris, who pleaded guilty to all three killings, is currently in jail serving five life sentences without the possibility of parole. He claims to be haunted by his past, replaying his daughter’s last words in his head every day.

The movie is expected to premiere in 2020, followed by a PSA to stop violence against women.
