The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree or does it? It seems the plagiarism apple has rolled from Trump’s wife to his son. #MelaniaTrump went viral for stealing the #FLOTUS, #MichelleObama’s #OneNation speech nearly verbatim.
Of course, the cognizant world knows that there are staff writers that actually author the speech. However, Melania missed that boat and claimed she wrote it with “as little help as possible”. Apparently, #DonaldTrumpJr has missed the boat as well.
Instead of taking the Plagiarism ‘L’ and moving pass the little BIG hiccup, in true Trump fashion the campaign couldn’t be out done. Trump Jr. took to twitter to say that #PresidentObama stole the “That’s not the America I know” he stated at the #DNC phrase from him. “I’m honored that POTUS would plagiarize a line from my speech last week. Where’s the outrage?”, Trump Jr. tweeted referring to the last week’s debacle. Trump Jr. used the line at the #RNC, but research isn’t a strong point for neither of the Trumps. The POTUS didn’t plagiarize Trump Jr. President Obama had previously said the line before. So the POTUS simply repeated himself as he has done several times with this phrase. If we are going to dig deep into the presidential who -said -it -first, this phrase was coined by President George W. Bush after the 9/11 attacks. The true origin stems back decades and I am certain, there is probably some feeble old guy with a mug in one hand and face in his other hand, wishing he had trademarked the phrase.
ANNNNND if we are going to talk uproar in plagiarism, lets be realistic. In undergrad, if you plagiarize a line or two, you can claim citing errors and with the proper distraught face and apology, you will get a warning. Now, if you decide to borrow an entire chapter while simultaneously maintaining this is your original work, then you are asking to fail not only that graded assignment, but the entire course as well. I see logic isn’t a strong point either.
Now all those that are gifted in the art of being petty know that the No. 1 rule to the savagery is being factual.
He tried it! LOL
