Lil Durk is once again trying to secure his release as he awaits trial in a federal murder-for-hire case.
This marks his third push for bond since his arrest.
On Wednesday, his lawyer, Christy O’Connor, submitted a formal request titled “Application for Review or Reconsideration of Order Setting Conditions of Release or Detention.”
The motion was filed in hopes that a District Judge will revisit and possibly overturn a prior decision made by Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue, who denied bond on May 8.
Unlike magistrate judges who typically oversee early proceedings, district judges hold the authority to reverse those rulings. Durk’s team is banking on that to get a new outcome.
The rapper has been behind bars since October 2024. He’s facing federal charges related to a murder-for-hire plot.
A date for the new hearing has yet to be announced.
