Chicago-based rapper Lil Durk has a warrant out for his arrest for his alleged connection to a shooting in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Police Department told TMZ they have yet to arrest Durk, but they currently have warrants issued for his arrest. Officials say Durk is wanted on five felony charges, including criminal intent to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as well as another charge of associating with a criminal street gang to participate in a crime.
Police say the incident took place on Feb. 5, around 5:43 a.m. at a restaurant called The Varsity. When authorities arrived, they found a man severely bleeding from a gunshot wound. At the scene, police obtained 13 shell casings from a rifle, a pistol and another firearm. Two witnesses told police the victim appeared to have gotten into a verbal confrontation with an unidentified Black man before he was shot.
The man was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery and reportedly survived. Durk, whose legal name is Durk Banks, took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce he would be turning himself into police. The shooting is currently under investigation.
