Concern is growing in Georgia after authorities confirmed that Nathan Smith, the 27-year-old son of Lil Jon, has been reported missing.
According to the Milton Police Department, Nathan, who also goes by Young Slade, was last seen in the area of Baldwin Drive and Mayfield Road in Milton. Officers said Smith left his home on foot and has not returned.
“[Smith] ran out of his house and has been missing since,” police stated. “[Smith] left on foot and does not possess a phone. He may be disoriented and in need of assistance. Family and friends are concerned for his safety.”
Earlier that same day, Rough Draft Atlanta reported that police activity was underway near Mayfield Park. While the department described it as “an active police matter,” officials did not immediately confirm whether it was directly connected to Smith’s disappearance.
Authorities later emphasized that the situation did not pose a danger to residents.
“There is no threat to the public,” police said when notifying the community about the search in the area. As of Wednesday, a representative for the Milton Police Department confirmed that Nathan had still not been located.
Nathan, who is also a performer, has previously spoken about carving out his own creative path. In a 2025 interview with Big Facts Network, he reflected on growing up with a famous father and the lessons that stuck with him.
“It’s trippy because I just see him as Dad, but everybody sees him as Lil Jon,” he said.
Lil Jon has also publicly shared pride in his son’s work. Speaking with OK! in 2024, the Atlanta rap icon said collaborating with Nathan on his “Total Meditation” and “Manifest Abundance” projects was “amazing,” while adding, “I’ve given him a lot of advice… he literally got an encyclopedia of music right here.”
The Milton Police Department is asking anyone with information about Nathan Smith’s whereabouts to contact them directly using the phone number or email listed in their official release.
