Lil Tjay Reportedly Alert and Speaking Following New Jersey Shooting

Lil Tjay is reportedly alert after being shot multiple times earlier this month in New Jersey.

TMZ reports that although Tjay remains hospitalized, he is making significant progress on his road to recovery.

Sources tell the outlet that the rapper is “awake and alert,” even speaking on his own. What’s more, the outlet’s sources claim when doctors removed Tjay’s breathing tube, his voice sounded the same as it did before the shooting.

As previously reported, the 21-year-old was shot multiple times in the chest and neck area on June 22 in Edgewater, NJ.

Following the incident, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced three men were arrested in connection with the shooting. Alleged gunman Mohamed Konate is facing multiple charges including attempted murder and armed robbery.

“Just after midnight, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the Edgewater Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of 14 The Promenade in Edgewater, NJ,” Musella’s office said. “Upon their arrival to the area, officers found 21-year-old Tione ‘Lil TJay’ Merritt with multiple gunshot wounds and Antoine Boyd with a single gunshot wound.”

Let’s continue to send well wishes to Tjay.
