Lil Uzi Vert is finally fighting back against the satanist allegations.
The “I Just Wanna Rock” rapper has been accused of devil worshiping for most of his career. This is partially due to the satanic symbolism displayed at his shows and in his wardrobe. Even some of his lyrics have raised eyebrows with fans. In “Baby Pluto,” he raps, “They thought I believed in the devil like ouija.” In a more recent record that he previewed during Rolling Loud in California, Uzi told the crowd, “I make a City Girl believe in Satan.”
Many of his peers became genuinely concerned that the City Girl lyric was directed at his girlfriend, JT, and he was making her conform to satanism. However, when TMZ questioned Uzi about the matter, he shared that the words about devil worshiping weren’t meant to be taken literally. Instead, he said the lyric only implied that he could make women do whatever he says but not actually worship the devil.
During the brief chat with the outlet, Uzi pointed out that he was raised in a religious household, but as an adult, how he chooses to express himself can, at times, be misinterpreted. Nevertheless, Uzi is not bothered by the backlash, and in fact, he confirmed the unreleased record referencing his rapper girlfriend will be featured on his forthcoming “Pink Tape.”

Uzi’s explanation arrives as several of his fellow artists expressed disdain for his Rolling Loud performance and the satanic imagery used during his set. Summer Walker took to her Instagram Story to question whether or not Uzi or others who constantly pander to the satanist community have ever actually seen a demon. G-Unit star Tony Yayo also stated that he could not agree with Uzi’s performance due to his own religious upbringing.
As for the Philly star himself, he believes that everyone just needs to “chill out.”
