BET just announced its first wave of performers for the show’s 25th anniversary and it’s packed with heavy hitters.
Leading the lineup is five-time GRAMMY winner and global hip-hop icon Lil Wayne, along with an exclusive “one-night-only” performance by multitalented artist Teyana Taylor. Also set to hit the stage: GRAMMY-nominated rap star GloRilla, boundary-pushing artist Playboi Carti, and GRAMMY-winning singer and producer Leon Thomas.
The BET Awards 2025 will air live from Los Angeles on Monday, June 9 at 8 PM ET/PT, and promises to be a celebration of two and a half decades of Black music, culture, and excellence.
“We’re setting the tone for a night that celebrates 25 years of impact, creativity, and Black culture,” said Connie Orlando, BET’s EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy. “With electrifying performances from some of the biggest names in music and an iconic comedic host, ‘BET Awards’ 2025 will be a can’t-miss celebration of everything the culture represents.”
That host? None other than Kevin Hart, who’ll bring his signature wit and high energy to the stage for a night of unforgettable moments.
Leading the nominations this year is Kendrick Lamar with 10 nods. Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla follow with six each, while Metro Boomin has five, and SZA and The Weeknd are tied with four.
BET is also pulling out all the nostalgic stops, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the iconic 106 & Park with a must-see tribute. The tribute, creative directed by Teyana Taylor and The Aunties Production, will bring back beloved former hosts AJ & Free, Julissa, Rocsi, Terrence J, and Keshia Chanté. Expect performances from Bow Wow, Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya, T.I., and more to revive the energy that made the show a cultural mainstay.
More performers and surprises are expected in the coming weeks.
