Lil Wayne’s recent Nightline interview has caused a lot of commotion. Fans were not pleased with the rapper’s comments regarding Black Lives Matter. However, it seems like they weren’t the only ones upset with the interview. According to TMZ, Wayne was pissed off as well.
On Wednesday, Wayne spoke with TMZ about his comments on the movement. The rapper revealed his statements came after the Nightline reporter began questioning him about his daughter. Apparently, after that, Wayne said, “there was no thought put into her questions and my responses.” However, in the meantime, he has offered apologies to anyone he offended. But, he’s still mad.
TMZ says, the interview was so upsetting, that he and his camp wanted the whole thing scrapped. Apparently, Wayne’s team reached out to ABC several times, demanding the network pull the plug on the interview, however, they say there was no response. According to the publication, Wayne believed the interviewer crossed the line by asking questions that were not pre-approved. However, ABC says, although nothing was pre-approved, nothing was off limits.
Being that the interview aired against Wayne’s better judgement, TMZ says he fired his publicist because of it.
