Lil Wayne’s Manager Cortez Bryant Alledges He Feared For His Life When Jas Prince Chased Him With A Gun

Lil Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant, who formerly managed Drake but allegedly had a falling out, is accusing Jas Prince of chasing him down with a gun. You may recall back in 2012, Jas Prince accused Drake’s management (including Cortez at the time) of not paying him money owed. From then until a few weeks ago, Jas has been returning with lawsuit after lawsuit to recover four million dollars owed to him. Now things are getting messier. In a recent deposition filed by Cortez Bryant’s lawyer, Cortez claims Jas Prince chased him around a room with a gun, threatening him to sign documents paying him a higher percentage of Drake’s royalties.

Sounds crazy? Ok, here’s the tea. Jas discovered and signed Drake to Aspire Music Group in 2007. Cash Money approached them and they wanted to sign Drake, but to do so they had to agree to pay 22% of all Drake’s advances, net profits and other advances to Jas Prince & Aspire. According to Jas, they agreed but he has been having to fight to get his money. In one lawsuit Cash Money said that they do not owe Jas anything, and that all money should be paid directly to Aspire. Jas called BS, because they had been paying directly to him up until they ran off with his checks again. Messy, I know! Well now Cortez is saying that the contract that Jas is accusing Cash Money of screwing him over on was signed by gun point.

Cortez’s lawyers say that Cash Money and Jas/Aspire agreed upon terms but a year later Jas showed up to where Cortez was out of the blue, presenting new paper work and demanding a higher pay out. Cortez says Jas Prince chased he and his colleagues around a table with a gun threatening to kill them if they didn’t sign. Cortez says he feared for his life so he did what he was told.
