In a recent interview, 14-year-old Lil Novi casually dropped a bomb when asked to choose between his father Lil Wayne, and Drake.

“Lil Wayne,” Novi answered without hesitation. “My dad wrote most of his sh*t, so. On God, if it wasn’t for my pops, it wouldn’t be no Drake.”
The comment instantly blew up on social media, reigniting the ghostwriting conversation that’s followed Drake since the Quentin Miller days. Novi, whom Wayne shares with Nivea, didn’t offer receipts or context, and the interviewer didn’t press him for more. Still, it was enough to get fans arguing across platforms.
Some users were quick to call cap, pointing out that Drake had been writing and dropping music back when he was still Jimmy Brooks on “Degrassi,” well before signing to Young Money in 2009. Others resurfaced old clips of Lil Wayne praising Drake’s pen and calling him one of the best lyricists in the game.
While Novi’s claim isn’t backed by proof, the timing is wild, especially considering Drake was recently involved in one of the most intense rap beefs in years.
Neither Wayne nor Drake has responded publicly, but hip-hop Twitter is already divided.
