Lil Wayne made good on his promise to drop a special announcement on Thursday, and it looks like he had more than one surprise in store.
Days after revealing he wouldn’t be attending the Super Bowl in his hometown of New Orleans, Wayne debuted an extended Cetaphil commercial titled “We’re All a Lil Sensitive.” While the ad playfully addresses his disappointment over not landing the halftime show, fans quickly noticed what appeared to be a major Easter egg hinting at the release date for Tha Carter VI.
Multiple hints at June 6, 2025. The numbers 6-6-25 appear throughout the commercial on jerseys, a scoreboard, and most obviously, a sign on a door that reads “Do Not Disturb Til’ 06-06-25 CARTER VI.” Given that June 6 is a Friday—the typical album release day—it seems like Wayne just confirmed when Tha Carter VI is dropping.

Wayne has been open about his disappointment over not being chosen to perform at Super Bowl LIX, admitting it “hurt” to be overlooked for the game happening in his city. However, he made it clear there’s no bad blood with Kendrick Lamar, who landed the gig. “I’ve spoken to him, and I wished him all the best, and I told him he better kill it,” Wayne said recently when speaking to Skip Bayless.
Even though he won’t be at the game, Wayne will still be a presence in New Orleans on Super Bowl Sunday. His Cetaphil ad will air exclusively in the city, ensuring he still makes an impact on one of the biggest nights in entertainment.
