Racial profiling has been an issue for hundreds of years in the U.S., and rapper #LilYachty says he has his own story of police harassment.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On Sept. 4, around 3:30 p.m., the Atlanta rapper took to social media in outrage after being pulled over by the police while driving in Georgia. “Wow a white cop really just pulled me over just to ask me for the bill of sale on my car because he didn’t believe it was mine. Wtf,” Yachty exclaimed.
An hour past and Yachty continued to describe what happened. “I didn’t do anything wrong. He literally just doesn’t believe it’s my car. Sh*t is crazy.” He didn’t go into detail about where he was driving or what type of car he was in but it seemed as though he was able to provide the officer the appropriate documentation to prove his was the legal owner.
Yachty is the owner of several luxurious vehicles but he makes sure to share his wealth with his friends and family. On Aug. 16, he gifted one of his friends with the keys to a new Corvette for his 21st birthday.
