Lil Yachty Says He Wouldn’t Do Music With Nicki Minaj Because His Loyalty Lies With Cardi B

On Monday, social media erupted after Nicki Minaj called out Cardi B over an Instagram argument between Cardi’s sister, Hennessy, and Nicki’s friend, Rah Ali. 

The incident escalated after Minaj spilled the “tea” on what she claimed “really” happened at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon Party  when Cardi threw her shoe at the Queens-bred rapstar and was escorted out with a knot on her forehead. While initial sources said Cardi’s knot came from an accidental elbow to the face by security- in their attempt to de-escalate the altercation- Minaj said it was all because of her friend, Rah, who she claimed beat Cardi “bad.” 

As the episode continued, Minaj went on to condemn Cardi’s sister for accusing her and her team of leaking Cardi’s number, among other things, including stopping bags. But, hours later, Cardi took to Instagram to respond to Minaj’s claims with receipts and called the self-proclaimed Barbie out for her lies. 

Although, in the end, the two agreed to move on from the nonsense, the residual effects of the longstanding rift between the two has left others with an ultimatum: Nicki Minaj or Cardi B. 

For Yachty, although he has no issue with either party, his loyalty lies with Cardi. End of story. 

The Quality Control rapper sat down with Raquel Harper for Tuesday’s episode of “Raq Rants” to discuss his new project but amid the conversation, the two touched on the ongoing beef between Minaj and Yachty’s Quality Control sister, Cardi B. 

“Offset is my big brother,” he said before Harper asked if felt the need to take sides in the beef between the two rap queens. “Yup,” he said, adding that he’s rolling with Cardi, every time. In regards to music, although he would probably want to work with Minaj, he said he just can’t do it because of his loyalty to Cardi B.
