Lizzo made a subtle jab at Donald Trump and the gloomy trade war.

During her “Saturday Night Live” appearance, the singer rocked a red-lettered crop top that read “TARIFFIED,” a swipe at Trump’s tariffs. On Friday, China retaliated against Trump’s country-specific tariffs by raising its levies on U.S. goods to 125%. Unfortunately, the trade war shows no sign of slowing down.
The performance marked Lizzo’s first SNL routine since being hit with a lawsuit by three ex-backup dancers, who accused her of harassment and body shaming, claims she firmly denies. She performed her new single, “Still Bad,” on the Jon Hamm-hosted episode, commanding attention not just for her vocals but for her risky wardrobe.
Fans applauded the outfit. However, online reactions from MAGA enthusiasts were less kind. Critics accused her of “trying to be relatable.” In another jab at the administration, Lizzo closed the show in a separate statement shirt that read, “black women were right.” This is seemingly in support of Kamala Harris, who accurately predicted many of Trump’s harsh orders since returning to office.
