Lola Brooke surprised fans by bringing out Billy B to perform “Don’t Play Wit It.”
On Saturday, the Brooklyn MC closed out her successful tour run with headliner A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. During the Barclays Center performance in her hometown, the rising star brought out her collaborator, Billy B, to perform the viral single. Their on-stage appearance was refreshing to fans who’ve questioned why B has not been a part of the performances of the single.
B is featured on the second verse of the record, though she rarely is seen performing it. In a January interview with Bag Fuel, B shared that she wasn’t invited to do concerts with Brooke, nor was she expecting to since she was considered a featured artist on the song, which is Brooke’s. In February, Brooke addressed the controversy herself during a sit-down with 105.3 The Beat ATL. She confirmed the two had performed the record together several times before it blew up. Nevertheless, it appears that whatever miscommunication existed between the rappers is water under the bridge.
“Thank you, bills for touching the Barclays with me @thcbillyb,” Brooke wrote in an Instagram caption on the Barclays Reel.
B also shared a video of the two ladies gracing the stage together. Hopefully, these two will team up more often.
