Los Angeles Father Accused Of Killing Son For Being Gay

It is sad that we are living in a society that you cannot live your life the way you choose to without being discriminated against and even hated. In the North Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, 69 year old Shehada Khalil Issa was charged with using a shotgun in the premeditated murder of his 38 year old son Amir Issa, according to CNN.

Inside the home, investigators found the mother dead. According to CNN, Shehada Khalil Issa found his wife and initially said he found his dead wife in the bathroom of their house and had shot his son in self-defense after being threatened with a knife. Issa said he then heard noises, thought it might be an intruder, and armed himself with a gun. He said he started looking around and encountered his 38-year-old son, whom Issa claimed was threatening him with a knife. A shooting then took place, authorities said.

“The suspect made incriminating statements implicating himself in the death of (the son) and was arrested for murder,” Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide Detective John Doerbecker said. “He claimed the son was armed with a knife, and there was no knife to be found. It was a horrible family tragedy.”

Neighbors heard multiple gunshots Tuesday morning and said that they often heard arguing from inside the home. Detectives were looking at whether a domestic dispute was also involved in the incident. Issa is currently being held without bail and could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Shehada Khalil Issa will be arraigned on April 11.
