Throughout the week, yellow, orange, purple, and blue colorways of the upcoming Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collab have been shared by close friends and family of the late designer Virgil Abloh. In addition to those exclusive pairs, we’ve learned that a limited-edition monogram colorway will be auctioned off by Sotheby’s.
Sotheby’s will auction two hundred pairs, ranging in men’s sizes 5 through 18, beginning on January 26. Bidding will start at $2,000.
The auction will conclude on February 8, with all proceeds going to Abloh’s “POST-MODERN” scholarship. The late fashion mogul founded the scholarship to help Black fashion students.
Each pair of sneakers will come with an orange embossed Taurillon Monogram Leather case. The case is exclusive to the auction.
According to Sotheby’s website, the Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director was heavily involved in the early stages of organizing the auction. It will now proceed in association with his family.
Following the conclusion of the auction, the kicks will see a Louis Vuitton store-only launch on February 8.
Abloh passed away on November 28 after privately battling cardiac angiosarcoma. He was 41.
