A Louisiana Groom was arrested this weekend for shooting a friend on his wedding day after he suspected that he was having an affair with his wife.
According to The St. John’s Parish Sheriff’s Office, Devin Jose Jones, 30, and his bride were riding with the victim after the wedding on Saturday night when they hit traffic on I-10 in Louisiana.
Police say that at around 11 p.m., the two men began bickering in the vehicle about the alleged affair.
Jones then pulled out his gun and chased his friend down the highway, shooting him in the leg. He also fired at another car stuck in traffic, shooting one person in the hand.
Meanwhile, Jones’ wife stopped an ambulance and barricaded herself inside after telling the crew that her husband was attempting to kill her.
Jones then attempted to enter the ambulance by force, police said.
Jones was apprehended after police caught up to him on foot. He has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, and two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, according to jail records.
The wounded were flown to University Medical Center in New Orleans and are expected to recover.
