Summer is quickly approaching, and if you haven’t locked in those travel plans, Airbnb has you covered with the best U.S. destinations to visit.
Days ago, the short-term rental company released the top cities for Summer travel based on the platform’s search traffic. When you think of destinations for the hot months, typically Miami, Los Angeles, and even Las Vegas may come to mind, considering its famous pool parties. Surprisingly, none of these made the top ten list. In fact, the number one city that people were interested in visiting was Louisville, Kentucky. While the city doesn’t exactly scream “wear less and go out more,” it does offer some pretty neat attractions. The Muhammad Ali Center, dedicated to the late boxer, is a non-profit cultural center and museum that draws in both citizens and out-of-towners alike. Louisville is a special destination because it’s the only U.S. hot spot to also make Airbnb’s top global destinations list.
Number two on the list is Laconia, New Hampshire. Rich in history, popular visitor spots include the Winnipesaukee Pier and the peaceful Ahern State Park. Lexington, another Kentucky staple, comes in the number two spot, with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, sitting at four, Panama City, Florida, holding the fifth spot, Milwaukee, Wisconsin coming in sixth place, and Surf City, New Jersey, occupying number seven. Bolivar Peninsula, Texas, Kansas City, Missouri, and North Topsail Beach, North Carolina, sit at the eighth, ninth, and tenth spots, respectively.
Which one of these destinations draws you in the most?
